Dallas, Texas: Telangana Peoples Association of Dallas (TPAD) brings Dallas Telugu community together one more time by organizing and unveiling another memorable social event “Vanabhojanalu” on June 15th, 2019 at Pilot Knoll Park, in Argyle, Texas.
This event symbolizes the celebration of mother nature. With a soft cool breeze from the nearby lake, plenty of shade, the aroma of Telangana food and delicacies cooked onsite by TPAD team along with enjoyable music kept the ambiance perfect and spirits high of the attendees for the entire day starting at 11:00 AM.
The event started off with Ganesh pooja and a celebration of Father’s Day. Soon after, the guests were pleasantly surprised with a Flash Mob dance by TPAD team. In a flawless execution, they cooked authentic Telangana delicacies under the trees and served food through multiple food stations.
The event was led by Chandra Reddy Police, TPAD President for 2019 with excellent support from Lakshmi Poreddy ( Joint Secretary), Anuradha Mekala ( Treasurer), the Vanabhojanalu Coordinators and Secretary Madhavi LokiReddy .
As the preparations were in full swing, Foundation Committee Chair, Janaki Ram Mandadi, known for his methodical leadership and mentoring the leadership of TPAD, constantly monitored and provided guidance to the team.
The team found an able and dedicated mentor in Raghuveer Bandaru, who supervised and guided the team with his vast experience of serving TPAD in many positions over the years.
For an even of this magnitude, a lot of support is needed from the community and the BOT Chair
Pavan Gangadhara has actively raised necessary resources for thorough execution of the event.
While Uma Bandaru has supervised entire operations of the on-site kitchen where food was prepared by Jaya Telakalapalli, Sharada SingiReddy, Indu Pancharupula and Linga Reddy Alva, Sahnkar Parimal, Srini Vemula for well over 2000 people in 3 hours, Phani cooked his signature Phani Handi Biryani, serving for all the attendees.
Ashok Kondala and Ram Annadi, who have served TPAD for a long time and who played critical role in the logistics of the event, have mentioned that serving for well over 2000 people, TPAD team demonstrated its signature coordination and teamwork.
The highlight of the event was spicy chicken barbeque and sweet corn grilled on site by Coordinator Sudhaakar Kalasani, Karan Poreddy, Rathna Uppala, Raghu Utkoori , Srinivas Annamaneni,, and young teenage volunteers Meghansh Reddy and Nived Reddy. They catered tasty barbeque for the entire event, serving for over 1000 people.
As the food was prepared, the guests were served hot food in 4 stations arranged under the big trees in the park, handling the lunch time rush effortlessly.
To serve 2000 people in 1 hour needs an army of committed team and the team of Rupa Kannayyagri, Madhumathi Vysyaraju, Roja Adepu, Aparna Kolluru, Sharath Punreddy, SasiReddy Karri, Renuka, Gayathri Giri, Manjula Todupunoori, Kalyani Taadimeti, Sunitha Reddy, Sudheer, Deepika and Sri Latha have showed excellent coordination in organizing food for the entire afternoon.
With Ajay Reddy, Rao Kalvala, Buchi Reddy Goli, Indu Pancharpula Madhavi Sunkireddy (Vice-Chair Boat of Trustees), Mahendar Kamireddy, Upender Telugu, Rajvardhan Gondhi, Ravikanth Reddy Mamidi (Vice president), Deepthi Suryadevara, Sharath Yerram, and TPAD Advisors- Venu Bhagyanagar, Vikram Jangam, Vijay Reddy, Naresh Sunkireddy, Sateesh Nagilla and collaboration team – Vamshi Krishna and Sravan Nidiganti have supported the execution of the event.
After the lunch and barbeque, Swapna Thummapala conducted games for kids and adults. There were variety of games, including Cricket, Volleyball, Kites Flying, Tug of war, Lemon spoon etc. The event of this magnitude was possible because of the dedicated team members and committed volunteers with six weeks of planning and flawless execution.
