New York Telugus have warmly welcomed Sri Jayaram Komati, our own Telugu person, a prominent community leader, who has been recently appointed special Representative of Government of Andhra Pradesh for North America. A get together was arranged on March 26, 2016, by Sri Jay Talluri, noted entrepreneur, past Chairman, TANA foundation in association with Telugu Literary and Cultural Association(TLCA), New York, to felicitate Sri Jayaram on this rare honor.
Mr. Jayaram will be responsible for liaison, coordination facilitation and assistance to all Government officials and dignitaries of Andhra Pradesh going to North America and also for mobilizing financial, technical and human resources from North America for economic, social, cultural and tourism development of Andhra Pradesh with immediate effect. It is a great recognition to the Telugu NRIs and to their contribution to the development of Navyandhrapradesh. It is for the first time in India that a state government has appointed a special representative outside the country.
Mr. Jayaram Komati is an active member to Telugu Association of North America. He has been involved with Telugu community activities through out US and served President for Telugu Association of North America (TANA). He owns a Chain of Indian restaurants in California State and other Businesses.
Various dignitaries from within the New York Community attended the function. Mr. Satish Vemana, President Elect, TANA, few from Washington DC and graced the occasion. TLCA President, Sri Satya Challapalli, TLCA Board of Trustees Chairman, Mr. Raghavarao Polavarapu, Mr. Rajinder Jinna, past president, American Telugu Association, Mr. Gaddam Dasaradha Ram, Mr. Tirumal Rao Tipirneni, founders of TANA, spoke on the occasion. TLCA Executive Committee facilitated the arrangements. Sirisha Tunuguntla, Kiran compered the program.
