BATHUKAMMA Celebrated with Rainbow of Flowers, Sounds of Music and Dance.
– On October 17, 2015, Mountain House Area Telugu Association (MHATA) and Mountain House Trace Telugu Association (MTTA) grandly celebrated the Floral Festival called BATHUKAMMA in Gazebo area of Wicklund Park.
BATHUKAMMA is a floral festival mainly celebrated by the Hindu women of Southern State of Telangana, INDIA. BATHUKAMMA is celebrated for nine days during Durga Navratri. BATHUKAMMA ‘ in telugu, means to ask the ‘goddess Maha Gauri to come alive’. Women/girls dress up in traditional attire and worship Goddess Maha Gauri-who is the life giver and goddess of womanhood, in the form of BATHUKAMMA .
More than 300 guests from across the Bay area and Central Valley turned up for the Event.
Women/girls wearing traditional and colorful saris worshiped Goddess Gauri by Bringing BATHUKAMMA’s which were decorated with Beautiful varieties of Flowers stacked up as a cone and dancing around them to the tune of BATHUKAMMA Songs.
Guests were served with Delicious and Mouth Watering South Indian Food as Lunch.
High light of the event was the Dandia which enthralled the crowd with Beautiful music and made the guests dance and enjoy all the way.

(btw- Some husbands found it so difficult to find their wives lost in the flood of flowers and ladies! Sorry guys!)
