Telugu Association of Southern California (TASC)
conducted the Women’s throw ball tournament on Saturday April 30th
at Mason Regional Park in Irvine city of Los Angeles, California. Women are the backbone of our society and this tournament is a tribute to all the Indian Women. TASC over the past 45 has been conducting various cultural and sports events but this throw ball event is dedicated exclusively for the Women to honor their hard work and respect their contributions.
On a beautiful Saturday
with typical California weather at perfect 72F the Mason park was witness to some real competitive, intense throw ball matches by some of the best, tough and gritty Telugu women. 10 teams from all over southern California participated in this tournament and these hard fought matches were witnessed by nearly 450 people. These matches sparked the inner passion, fire and never give up attitude as their kids, family members and friends were cheering for them. Every match was down to the wire with drama and tension. There were slogans, cheers, claps for every point and every match. Great team work and comradery were displayed by all the teams.
The 10 participating teams were divided into 2 groups. The top 2 winning teams from each group advanced to the semi-final. Torrance Tycoons won this tournament. Congratulations to both Winners and Runners up.

The day also witnessed some fierce Kabaddi
by the men. As you all know Kabaddi is the favorite Indian sport and is very popular even at the village level. In an effort to introduce this sport, TASC conducted his Kabaddi game first time in USA. It was good to see the huge participate in Kabaddi with such sporting spirit.
Overall both the throw ball and kabaddi tournaments conducted by TASC are a resounding success. Everyone attending the event had lot of fun and thanked TASC for conducting such a wonderful sports event. A delicious breakfast and lunch was served by Dosa Place.
TASC President Bayapa Reddy Dadem and Executive Committee thanked all the TASC members and donors for their continued support. He thanked all the volunteers for their effort in conducting this fantastic and successful sports tournament. He promised deliver many more such events in this year.
