Telugu Association of Southern California(TASC) conducted “Sri Durmukhi Nama Samvatsara” Ugadi celebrations in a very festive atmosphere on Saturday April 9th 2016 at the Jordan High School Auditorium, Long Beach, CA.

They say that “Fortune favors the bold” but “Luck favors the prepared and dedicated team“. In spite of inclement weather conditions, rainy days, blockbuster movie releases nothing could stop the TASC loyal members from attending the Ugadi event

Festivities started on time at 6:30PM with lamp lighting ceremony by the Executive committee Bayapa Reddy Dadem (President), Butchi Reddy Yalamuri (Secretary), Rajendhar Gujjula (Treasurer), Ram Koditala (President-Elect) and Mallik Bonthu (Past President).
Ugadi Sambaralu Highlights
  • Absolutely house full with more than 1600 people witnessing the “Ugadi Sambaralu” festivities
  • The entire venue had a village like atmosphere with Mamidi Toranalu and Cheruku Gadalu
  • Rayalaseema Special Raagi SangatiPootharekulu, Ugadi Pachadi, Panakamu and Vadapappu
  • More than 150 participants from all over SoCal performed.
  • Variety of Traditional, Devotional, Tollywood based performances by kids, teenagers and adults
  • Anchoring by Syamala and Raghu Vemula provided a glamorous glitz to the event
  • Sensational singing by Suchitra and Dhanunjay entertained the audience with some foot tapping numbers
  • All the kids and adults had a blast and were dancing on the stage along with the singers.
  • Leaders from all Telugu associations attended the event
The real highlight of the evening was the “Raagi Sangati” dish provided during dinner. First time ever this Rayalaseema delicacy was served in a TASC event and everyone just loved it. Special thanks to Vishnu Catering for preparing such a wonderful Raagi Sangati. A very delicious Telugu meal along with special Pootharekulu was served by Dosa Place.
TASC Ugadi event received great support from various local and national organizations. Their participation and attendance provided great encouragement to the team.
TASC President Bayapa Reddy Dadem thanked all past presidents and executive committee members for their outstanding service to this 45 years old organization. He thanked his team and volunteers for all their hard work and hosting such a fantastic event. He also thanked all the audience for coming out in such a large number and making it a super grand successful Ugadi event. He requested everyone to participate in all the upcoming events of TASC, including Women’s Throwball event on April 30th, 2016.
