As the state of Telangana flourishes with development and growth, the focus now shifts to promoting, preserving, perpetuating the heritage of the people of Telangana and Telugu origin. Taking a cue an organization makes its way towards the same principles.

 

Since its inception Telangana American Telugu Association has been in the forefront of community service, bringing cohesiveness and promoting the Telangana culture. With over 200 events in the last 4 years the association is being accredited of satisfying community needs.

A glittering ceremony marked the board meeting of Telangana American Telugu Association in Aria Convention Center, Las Vegas, NV where over 150 members converged the board meeting.

The leadership of Telangana American Telugu Association oversaw the logistics, Dr. Pailla Malla Reddy the Pharma giant from New York chaired the board meeting of Telangana American Telugu Association. 

Dr. Pailla Malla Reddy Chair of Advisory Council announced the new board and Executive Committee. He welcomed the members and thanked them for being part of the board meeting. He emphasized that Telangana American Telugu Association to focus towards community service, and increasing the membership for this year. He welcomed the young leadership into TATA and encouraged them to reach out to all corners of the North America and invite them to become members of TATA. He requested the members to selflessly work as a team and attain the set goals and objectives of Telangana American Telugu Association.

 

The outgoing President Dr. Haranath Policherla felt highly contented and explained all the achievements during his tenure. The members congratulated Dr. Haranath Policherla for his selfless service towards the organization. 

Dr. Pailla Malla Reddy appointed the following as Board of Directors (BODs) and the oath ceremony was administered by Dr. Mohan Patalolla, Advisory Council member.

Dr. Vijayapal Reddy, AC member outlined the core expectations from each Telangana American Telugu Association Board of Director (TATA BOD).

Dr. Pailla Malla Reddy later announced the Executive Committee list and announced Vikram Jangam as the President for 2019-2021 along with the other Executive Committee:

Vikram Jangam took charge of the affairs as president of Telugu American Telugu Association and addressed the board members, Vikram Jangam in his maiden speech as President declared that he will work selflessly and uphold values of ethics and the constitution. He laid out the planned activities for the upcoming 2 years and requested all members to support his presidency. 

He thanked Chair Dr. Malla Reddy Pailla, Advisory Council members, and others for resting trust on him and letting him spearhead the organization. He outlined the below objectives

• Telangana American Telugu Association community outreach for Telangana and Telugu families in North America, 

• Promoting youth by involving them in Telangana American Telugu Association activities, 

• Inducting members of over 5000 in North America, 

• Provide support to mainstream people in North America

• Telangana American Telugu Association Seva Days to be held biennially in the state of Telangana.

 

Srinivas Ganagoni, General Secretary, in his opening remarks, said the board should work as a team and plan Community Service events across North America and also focus on increasing the membership.

 

The board later appointed Standing Committee Chairs, Regional Vice-Presidents and Regional Coordinators. Many directors and Telangana American Telugu Association members occasioned their views unequivocally to strengthen Telangana American Telugu Association and to ensure that Telangana American Telugu Association works for the cause of Telangana and Telugu community in North America and the Telugu states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The meeting was later adjourned by President Vikram Jangam.

Telangana American Telugu Association an organization that has been making inroads with community service, social and cultural activities in North America kicked off their second anniversary celebrations in Dallas, TX. The venue was Biryani @ Hilltop where over 150 members joined the kick-off event.

 

Welcoming the members was Sameera Illendula, Regional Vice-President of Dallas. She thanked member for coming despite conflicts and announced the event details that will happen on April 29th, 2017 at Dr. Pepper Arena. She mentioned the venue was chosen considering the high turn-out based on the past experiences. She requested all the members to be part of the grandeur second anniversary and mentioned the team is working hard to ensure the event is highly successful. Later a brief video was played that reflected T.A.T.A accomplishments and social projects that were undertaken in the past 2 years.

 

Vikram R. Janagam, Secretary for T.A.T.A later explained the purpose of the second anniversary and the history of T.A.T.A’s evolution. He requested the members to be part of the extravagant anniversary that will be cherished for years to come. He introduced the Anniversary Committees that were constituted. As the committees were called upon the stage the Event Coordinator Mahesh Adibhatla took charge of the proceedings and went through the details of the upcoming signature program and introduced the chairs of the committees. Sameera Illendula, Mahendar Kamireddy, Manohar Kasagani, Shanti Nuthi, Rupa, Roja Adepu, Shaker Brahmmadevara, Santosh Kore, Ratna, Satheesh Nagilla, Suresh Pathaneni, Pavan Gangadhara, Chandra Police, Shyam Pati, Padmasree Thota comprised the chairs and co-chairs.

Mahesh Adibhatla alongside Vikram Janagam requested both national and local Telugu organizations to come forward and support the T.A.T.A anniversary celebrations. They reminded the visionary Dr. Pailla Malla Reddy was driving T.A.T.A making it a premier organization in the areas of Social and Cultural contributions to the society. Mahesh Adibhatla mentioned under the supervision of Jhansi Reddy President, T.A.T.A the anniversary preparations are coming up stupendously. He thanked the Advisory Council, Executive Committee, Board of Directors and the National Team for reposing faith in the Dallas team and assured them of a remarkable program in making.

 

Representatives from various organizations who joined included from TANTEX, TPAD, DATA, TANA, ATA, NATA, NATS, IT-Serve among other community leaders. Telangana Peoples Association of Dallas (TPAD) became the first Diamond sponsor from Dallas to support the second anniversary. Vikram Janagam took the opportunity to thank the leadership of TPAD for their unconditional support. The event also included a musical group of professional singers from DFW who enthralled the attendees with peppy numbers. Manohar Kasagani Regional Vice-President of T.A.T.A thanked attendees for joining the kick-off, all the media partners and Biryani Pot @ Hilltop for providing the venue.

Telangana American Telugu Association (T.A.T.A), New York, organized its winter coat drive for homeless people in Suffolk County, Long Island and New York City. With an overwhelming response of donations, T.A.T.A NY team was able to distribute more than 1000 winter items (winter coats, shoes, blankets, fleeces) to Salvation Army, other Social Service Organizations in New York City and donated some of the coats to shelter less people in NY City. With the critical support of Telugu community and the generosity of individual donors, T.A.T.A exceeded its goal for this year.

Ranjeeth Kyatham, Regional Vice President, spearheading the drive, said the T.A.T.A coat drive is a unique humanitarian event organized in New York, and thanked every donor for their generosity. He later thanked all the T.A.T.A volunteers for their untiring efforts in making the drive a huge success.

While addressing the gathering New York’s T.A.T.A team pledged that they want to take these organizational activities to next level by participating and organizing social activities in mainstream America as well as in motherland India. In that pursuit, Dr. Pailla Malla Reddy contributed Rs. 50 lakhs and Dr. Sudhakar Vidiyala donated Rs. 10 Lakhs to Mission Kakatiya in Telangana State. Dr. Malla Reddy also donated Rs. 13 Lakhs to Telangana Samskrutika Saradhi team led by Rasamayi Balkishan for promotion of arts and cultural activities. Recently in December 2016 T.A.T.A President Jhansi Reddy did couple of Community Activities in India, She visited lot of school and donated school bags, digital class rooms, drinking water facility to the students and donated money to build the infrastructure of the schools. She also visited some of hospitals and disability camps.  T.A.T.A is going to Donate ECG Machine and ultra sound machine to them.

TATA team appreciated the donors for generously donating the winter clothes for the poor and needy. The entire event was supported and encouraged by Dr. Pailla Malla Reddy, Phanibushan Tadepalli, Madava Reddy Uppugalla, Dr. Sudhakar Vidiyala and Sharath Vemuganti.

Telangana American Telugu Association (T.A.T.A) celebrated its 2nd Bathukamma at Swami Narayan Temple, Monmouth Junction in NJ on October 9th 2016 with over 600 attending the event.

The backdrop of the temple deities, the colorful dresses and very well crafted colorful Bathukammas made the atmosphere even more joyful. People from all over NJ , NY and Philadelphia  started to arrive to partake in the festivities and started taking pictures with their favorite Bathukammas that were on display, Lunch was prepared and their culinary skills were displayed by the volunteers of the organization. Sports activities began immediately after the attendees finished enjoying delicious and sumptuous homemade delicacies.

This event was led by RVP Dhanraj Seri, Bindu Madiraju TATA Women chair and Raja Lakshmi Palwai Women Coordinator NJ with the help from strong ladies team Saritha Komatireddy, Devi Bandala, Suneetha Kambhaladinne, Neelima Bhonagiri, Varalaxmi Palghat, Saritha Vuppala, Keerthi Reddy, Pallavi Reddy, Saritha Chintawar, Saritha Arjula and Deepthi Mamidi. T.A.T.A also handed over volunteer certificates to all the children who helped with the event in various capacities.

Telangana American Telugu Association (T.A.T.A.), New York, celebrated Bathukamma, a festival of flowers, in New York on October 2, 2016, with support from local organization TLCA. More than 600 members and families from various parts of New York attended the festivities.  Bathukamma is a colorful and vibrant annual floral festival of celebrated by women. Though originated and celebrated mostly in Telangana Region, families across all the regional and cultural boundaries join in this auspicious festival in New York reflecting the unity among Telugus. Families brought Bathukammas, a floral arrangement of many varieties of beautiful flowers stacked in layers in the shape of a pyramid. The venue, UpSky Hotel, Hauppauge, was specially decorated for the celebrations. Women clad in colorful traditional dresses and choice of beautiful gold ornaments and men and children in the traditional attire added more color to the event.

The festivities started with Lalitha parayanam, the women members chanting mantras in praise of Goddess Durga who is a symbol of womanhood and the universal Shakti, with utmost devotion.  Later with all the Bathukammas in center, womenfolk danced circling around these floral arrangements singing devotional Bathukamma songs.

Delicious lunch was served with authentic Telangana recipes. The later part of the afternoon was filled with entertainment and enthralled the audience with many games.  Women fashion show was a big hit with any members hitting the ramp walk.  Guests enthusiastically participated in many competitions being organized at the event.  At the end, the floor was opened to the guests for a non-stop music and dance Dandiya.  Dandiya is a traditional folk dance associated with Bathukamma, Dasara festivals, in praise of Goddess Durga. Men and women from all ages paired up dancing to the upbeat music. 

Ranjeeth Kyatham, Regional Vice-President, thanked all the members for their active participation and making the event a great success.  He thanked TLCA President Satya Challapalli and the Executive Committee for excellent logistic support and participation in the event. The entire event was supported and encouraged by T.A.T.A. Advisory Council Chair, Dr. Pailla Malla Reddy, a noted businessman and philanthropist from New York.  Galaxy of leaders from T.A.T.A., Board of Directors, Dr Sudhakar Vidiyala, Madava Reddy Uppugalla and Phanibushan Tadepalli, TLCA Board of Trustees along with the Chairman, Dr. Raghava Rao Polavarapu, Dr. Purnachandhar Atluri, Dr Krishna Reddy Gujavarthi, Dr. Sridevi Bhumi attended the event.

Dr. Pailla Malla Reddy spoke at the occasion and reiterated T.A.T.A.’s commitment to promote Telugu Culture and values, working closely with the local organizations throughout the US. The dignitaries attended gave away the prizes to the winners of the competitions held during the event.

Telangana American Telugu Association (T.A.T.A) successfully hosted Mother’s day celebrations event on Saturday May 21st, 2016 at Indian Oven Banquet Hall, Simi Valley, CA. A mark of respect to each Mother who is the only irreplaceable entity. A person often mute, yet a person who puts the family moving each day! It was a fitting tribute to the Motherhood often forgotten. The event organizers from Telangana America Telugu Association felt the Mothers deserve more and special on this day and conducted this Ladies exclusive Event.

The event was steered by Harinder Tallapalli, Regional Vice-President from Los Angeles and coordinated by Regional Coordinators Shireesha Tallapalli, Praveena Kasanagottu, Bindhu Gande, Saritha, Sucharita Rampuram among other women leaders from the community. The women attendees felt T.A.T.A injects and instill confidence, leadership qualities and promotes cohesiveness and many came forward voluntarily to register as members of T.A.T.A. The organizers conducted activities such as Singing, Kuchipudi Performances, Comedy Skits, Talent show, Fashion Show, Awards Ceremony, Super Mom contests, and many fun-filled Games where many attended and recalled their fond memories of being a child and as a Mother, shared their happy moments together, showcased their talent and enthralled the attendees with their wit and mingling attitude.

The event began with lighting ceremony by T.A.T.A President Jhansi Reddy Garu followed by Ganapathi pooja and devotional songs. T.A.T.A President Jhansi Reddy conveyed message about objectives of T.A.T.A and upcoming Telangana SEVA Days, T.A.T.A Convention 2017 and encouraged more Women involvement, leadership in T.A.T.A. and requested to enroll in membership. Marking the occasion Chief Guest actress Laya graced the occasion and extended support to T.A.T.A. LA Regional Coordinators felicitated T.A.T.A President who in turn felicitated Acterss Laya President by Jhansi Reddy. The event was concluded by cake cutting and a promise to undertake more initiatives that include women and community related services.

The organizers had fun filled activities such as Coffee with Mom, Super Mom contests where the Mothers recalled their memories, showcased their talent and enthralled the attendees with their wit and mingling attitude.

The event began with prayer songs marking respect towards Motherhood. The songs by Snigdha Eleswarapu and Pragna Brahmmadevara marked the beginning of the event. However the main dignitaries were Sanskrithi Gazal Srinivas and Nithya Bayya who rendered a perfect balance of thought provoking and scintillating songs that kept the Mothers and kids on the toes. While Sanskrithi took to Gazals that she inherited from her father Gazal Srinivas, Nithya Bayya ensured the women have fun and high energy in the form of Tollywood and Bollywood numbers. Marking the occasion all the Mothers cut cake and shared the happy moments together.

Telangana  American Telugu Association (TATA) Los Angeles, CA team organized a Meet & Greet with Telangana Government OSD ,Officer on Special duty Sri Deshapathi Sriniavas, Minister Sri Jupally Krishna Rao on Nov15th Sunday evening in Tandoori Restaurant in Orange County of Southern California.

The event began amidst much fanfare, ended with a thumping support and presence of a massive crowd from all over the Southern California.

Anil Arrabelli (TATA Joint secretary) welcomed the attendees and chief guests Sri Deshpathi Srinivas (OSD and cultural ambassador of Telangana Govt,  Minister Sri Jupally Krishna Rao to the attendees and explained about the TATA activities happening in the California area. Express Gratitude to TATA Advisory chair Pailla Malla Reddy and TATA President Jhansi Reddy and  TASC Advisory Srinivas Nakka.

The celebrations began by Master of Ceremony Ramesh Gattu by inviting the chief guests, community leaders.  Sri Deshapathi Srinivas and Sri Jupally Krishna Rao addressed the audience and explained of the rich culture and heritage of Telangana and importance of it in the history of forming the state. As the state is doing its best to preserver and promote, They stressed upon the need for NRIs to step forward to do their part. Sri Deshapathi Srinivas explained the evolution of Telangana struggle and the great contributions of several leaders who sacrificed their lives for the formation Telangana. He also explained with examples how Telangana Telugu is rich in its form, expression and how it influenced other dialects.

Sri Deshapati Srinivas being a Telangana folk lyricist and very knowledgeable about state history, most of the narration was filled with poetic recitals to reference the life and history of the people, which made the evening live and energized. He answered many questions from audience how they can help the needy even in small steps which can bring big change.

Vishweshwar Reddy Kalevala TDF President graced  the occasion and extended support to the event. Harinder Tallapally TATA Regional Vice president thanked the high-profile guests, all the participants, sponsors, community organizations, and self-motivated volunteers for their support in making the event a formidable success.

Telangana America Telugu Association (T.A.T.A.) presented an excellent Meet and greet program with Sri. Deshapathi Srinivas, Officer on Special Duty to Chief Minister Telangana. Event was organized by T.A.T.A. of Bay Area on Saturday November 14, 2015 at 556 S Milpitas Blvd, Milpitas, and was well attended over 400-450 enthusiastic audience of Telugu community.

The event started with a minute silence in respect of Telangana Amara Veerulu followed by Sri Srinivas Manapragada (National Cultural Chairman) of T.A.T.A. singing Telangana Patriotic song “Jaya hey Jaya hey Telangana”.

He explained the ideals of T.A.T.A. and the ambitious plans of service including supporting “Mission Kakatiya”. TATA Board of Director Vijay Chava introduced TATA members and talked about TATA Membership drive. Appi Reddy (Regional Vice President) spoke about Youth involvement in TATA activities and future programs. The evening entertainment was presented by Nishanth, Shashank Goud and Srinivas Manapragada, Folk songs and dance performances by Tirumalesh.

Produtoor Yella Reddy, Professor, noted kavi, Telangana persona has talked on history of Telangana poet’s involvement and made aware of the contributions of known poets of Telangana struggle. Sri Raja Reddy Garu a leading industrialist of Bay Area and TIE President elect, spoke on the involvement of Telangana IT professionals and their participation in the community. As NRI from Nizamabad, he mentioned how the technology can be used in villages and rural sector and encouraged the youth involvement in the IT activities. He also mentioned about recent involvement with T Hub initiated by Telangana Govt.

Sri. Deshapathi Srinivas Garu, celebrity of the event explained the rich culture and heritage of Telangana and importance of it in the history of forming the state. As the state is doing its best to preserve and promote the heritage, he stressed upon the need for NRIs to step forward to do their part.

He explained the evolution of Telangana struggle and the great contributions of late Sri. Jaya Shanker Garu – how he relentlessly made an effort to motivate people to come to his meetings which started at mere 50 people to 50 lakhs people at his last speech at Warangal. He also explained with examples how Telangana Telugu is rich in its form, expression and how it influenced other dialects.

He explained how Telangana Govt. is working towards self-sustained rural economy and briefed about the re-design of water and power projects by Telangana Government.  Sri Deshapati Srinivas Garu being a poet and very knowledgeable about state history, most of his narration was filled with poetic recitals to reference the life and history of the people, which made the evening live and energized. The packed audience thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

Local Telangana cultural associations (TCA), Silicon Andhra Association heads and members showed their support to TATA and its activities.
