October 11th 2015 Sunday, Natomas celebrated our 7th year Bathukamma and Dasara festival. What a celebration, it was!

Natomas kicked off the event with Durga pooja, which set the tone for rich cultural events for the evening. Natomas like to thank Sri Gudipalli Srinivasa Sarma garu for performing the pooja and showering lord Durga’s blessings on us. More than 900 people attended the event. Natomas also thank all the ladies that participated in Lalitha Sahasranamam that immediately followed the pooja. Our thanks to all the volunteers who decorated the area and made all the arrangements for such a important part of the night’s festivities.

The Bathukamma pooja that started right after was such a treat to the eyes! Words can’t express how pleasing the colorful Bathukammas were. Thanks to all the ladies and young girls, who made them and participated in rhythmic dances. This wouldn’t have been possible without the help of several volunteers who helped in preparing, beautifying and cleaning-up the area. Natomas thank each one of them for making the main event of the night such an eye-pleaser and also glitch-free.

The pooja was followed by serving home made dinner to all guests and devotees. Thanks to all the ladies that prepared so many mouth-watering dishes, and to the volunteers that helped in the kitchen and dining area.

The cultural activities provided an opportunity to kick back and relax after all the jubilation. The performances kicked off with kids performing Ganapathi pooja and Keerthi’s devotional song. The kids also entertained us with fashion show, dance and a hilarious skit. Thanks to Keerthi, all the kids and their parents for showing us a glimpse of their talents.

The musical performances by Sumangali, Saketh and Niharika mesmerized everyone and kept us wanting more. Sumangali’s melodies – special mention goes to ‘Nuvvu Nuvvu’ song – were absolutely a treat for music lovers. Saketh’s high-energy performances – most notably, the breathless song – kept the crowd entertained and on their feet. Niharika’s fast numbers were loved by everyone. Thanks to all of them for graciously accepting our invite and providing sublime entertainment throughout the night. Special thanks to all the volunteers who decorated the stage, monitored the technical departments (sound, lighting, etc.) and everyone who planned and executed such a wonderful slate of cultural programs.

Natomas would also like to thank all of our sponsors for supporting us and the media partners for helping us share and preserve these wonderful moments. Natomas also like to thank all other volunteers who made sure that such a huge event ran smoothly.

Lastly, but most importantly, Natomas like to thank all of you who attended the event, celebrated and enjoyed it with us. The overwhelmingly positive response makes it all worth the effort and make us look forward to next year.
