IYANA (Indian Youth Association of North America) organized 9th Annual Youth Convention on April 26th in PYLUSD Performing Arts Center, Placentia, California. As part of this event, IYANA conducted the Bollywood dance competitions in different categories like solo, Duet and group dance competitions. Each category again there are three age groups 4-8 years, 9 to 13 years and 14 to 18 years.

Over 200 kids participated in the competitions in different categories in different age groups. All the programs reflected the culture from different parts of the India. The program is best example to show “unity in integrity”. IYANA is the only organization provides a unique platform for all Indian kids.

IYANA got tremendous response from all over Los Angeles from individuals and dance schools. It was a sold out show. All the participants reported at 2:00 PM to with enthusiasm and the program started on time 3:00 PM. Audience enjoyed 4 hours of non-stop entertainment from the participants. The program ended by 7:00 PM as scheduled.

Program started with Ganesh Prardhana and American National Anthem followed by Solo dance completions. Duet dance completion was followed by solo and continued with group dance competitions. Srinivas Killada and Neelima Pudinaga were the MC’s of the program. Devaki Yagalla, Naveen Kanth Bayi and Hema Kanumalli are the judges for this dance competition. Srinivas Killada garu introduced judges and volunteers to the audience towards end of the program. Lakshimi Chundu garu announced the winners.

IYANA Founder Sri Lakshmi Chundu garu thanked all participants, volunteers for their time and dedication in making this event a great success. She also thanked high school volunteers who are part of the successful event and requested all the volunteers to continue the same support for oncoming programs.

Prizes and trophies were awarded to all the winners and participants. There were a number of key volunteers who spent enormous amount of time to make this program success including Veerababu Ambati, Chaitanya Madala, Narendra Kavarthapu, Suresh Chilukuri, Nilima pudinaga, Sarath, Sadana Punur, Pavan, Chinna Ponnaganti, srilakshimi chilukuri, Sudha Kavarthapu, Lakshmi Chundu and Srinivas Killada.

The program was concluded with Indian National Anthem. Vishnu Catering sponsored the food for the event.
